Job Summary
Lead hydro excavation crews in residential and commercial areas, executing utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging for pole holes, anchors, and new placement. Set up and inspect grounding and bonding procedures, then perform pre and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance on heavy equipment. Complete all required paperwork within set timelines while managing daily vacuum excavation tasks including potholing, trench work, and exposing existing underground utilities. This role requires a minimum of one year of related experience, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in operating heavy machinery. Candidates must pass criminal and motor vehicle background checks, comply with a drug-free workplace policy, and possess the physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs under adverse conditions. Required Qualifications
- Standard Driver License
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-worker
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Mechanical ability; and knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of Manual Laboring Experience preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
