Job Summary
Conduct hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging for residential and commercial areas. Supervise crew activities to ensure skill development while setting up and inspecting grounding and bonding procedures for safe operation. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and daily vacuum tasks such as potholing, pole holes, and trench work. Complete all required paperwork within set timelines. Requires ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift up to 80 lbs, and work in tight spaces. Minimum of one year related experience and valid driver's license required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-worker
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Mechanical ability; and knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
- Standard Driver License Required
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen
