Hydrovac Operator - (Travel Role)

Job Summary
Operate Hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities for pole holes, trench work, and new placement projects. Execute pre and post-trip inspections, perform routine maintenance, and supervise Hydrovac Laborers to ensure skill development. Set up grounding and bonding procedures, complete required paperwork within timelines, and handle repetitive lifting of vacuum piping connections. Requires Class A CDL Air Brake and Tanker endorsement, one year of related experience, and valid driver's license. This role involves daily vacuum excavation tasks including potholing existing utilities and mapping print reading.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement
- Valid State of Residence Driver's License
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
- Must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (implied by 'Repetitive Lifting of Vac Piping Connections' and 'skilled laborers')
