Job Summary
Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment to safely excavate and expose underground utilities, including potholing, slot trenching, and debris removal for HDD work, pole holes, and new placement. Supervise Hydrovac Laborers to ensure skill development and maintain employee safety while performing pre and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance. Set up grounding and bonding procedures, complete required paperwork within deadlines, and manage repetitive lifting of vacuum piping connections. Requires Class A CDL Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement, one year of related experience, and proficiency in heavy equipment operation and confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement
- Valid State of Residence Driver's License
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
- Pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities
- Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely
- Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Mapping and Print Reading
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
