Job Summary
Hydromechanical Engineer to design and develop engineering solutions for complex hydromechanical and fluid power systems, troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical machinery, perform system modeling and validation, and work hands-on with testing and maintenance. Leverage CAD to develop and modify designs, perform FEA as needed, interpret drawings and documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring adherence to industrial safety standards. Role supports mission-critical naval test systems with primary work in Memphis, TN and potential support at a secondary site in Bethesda, MD. Strong analytical skills, hands-on mechanical experience, and familiarity with fluid dynamics and mechanical design are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- Can substitute 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 3+ years of related hands-on mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in industrial, heavy manufacturing, waterworks, or similar environments preferred
- Strong background in fluid dynamics and mechanical design
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense programs
- Experience in naval or laboratory test system environments
- Experience performing root cause analysis on complex mechanical systems
- Knowledge of military standards and specifications
