Job Summary
The Hydrology Crew Lead will supervise field operations, managing a team of Hydrology Technicians on projects aimed at protecting water quality. Key responsibilities include conducting and overseeing water resource inventories, training technicians, evaluating the Best Management Practices (BMP) Program, and ensuring accurate data collection. The position requires experience in hydrologic surveys and road surveys, along with the ability to work in steep terrain and drive a 4WD vehicle. This position offers hands-on experience in resource management and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Experience conducting road surveys identifying sediment sources and/or water quality issues
- Experience doing layout of fuels reduction, logging, and restoration projects
- Physical ability for fieldwork in remote areas
- Possess a clean, valid, state-issued driver’s license with the ability to safely operate and maintain a 4WD vehicle on and off paved roads
- Willingness to work a variable schedule in response to project needs, including some weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in conducting hydrologic surveys
- Skills in GPS navigation and map reading
- Effective communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams
