Job Summary
Coordinate and execute field programs for hydrologic data collection and monitoring, including station installation and equipment maintenance. Compile, manage, and assess hydrologic, water use, and water quality data while supporting ongoing quality management and analysis. Mentor junior staff on data collection protocols and prepare draft technical report sections for client and regulatory submissions. Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and maintain accurate records of field activities. Requires a B.Sc. in natural sciences with two years of field experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work in remote locations. Salary range $68k-$82k; hybrid work available.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. or technical diploma in natural/environmental sciences
- prior formal training (e.g., coursework) in hydrology or physical geography
- Minimum two years of experience with field programs
- experience with surface water or climate monitoring instrumentation or investigation
- Ability and interest to undertake fieldwork in a range of locations and weather conditions, including working in remote locations, and on programs that may require camp stays
- Comfortable using technology and a variety of environmental monitoring systems such as dataloggers and software packages
- Project coordination, field project management, or other project management experience
- Experience and interest in data management, compilation, and analyses
- Attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of adherence to field standard operating procedures and good data collection
- Must have the ability to drive a pickup truck
- have held a valid driver's license for the past three years with a clean driving abstract
