Hydrogeologist/ Water Resources Professional

Job Summary

Conduct geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental field investigations while supporting groundwater evaluations and water supply assessments. Perform water rights research, permitting support, and regulatory compliance activities by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting field data. Utilize GIS and analytical tools to evaluate findings, prepare technical reports, maps, and documentation, and maintain accurate project records. Collaborate with senior scientists and project managers on multidisciplinary projects across New Mexico and the Southwest. Requires a Bachelor's degree in geology or related field with 2–7 years of experience, valid driver's license, and availability for occasional evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Water Resources, or a related field
  • 2–7 years of relevant professional experience with water resources, groundwater investigations, environmental consulting, or water rights-related projects
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS/GIS applications and common software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to follow directions, solve problems, and support multiple project activities
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel for field assignments
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to meet project demands

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree (preferred but not required)
  • Professional registration/licensure
