Job Summary
Conduct fieldwork programs including drilling supervision, geotechnical logging, soil testing, and groundwater monitoring. Execute groundwater well installation and hydraulic testing while performing critical analysis of related data. Apply geospatial and 3D analysis skills using GIS, Leapfrog, SEEPW, HYDRUS, and MODFLOW to assess groundwater flow, fate, and transport through quantitative 2D and 3D numerical modelling. Prepare technical reports, maps, and figures for clients in energy, mining, and civil infrastructure sectors. Requires a Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrology with at least two years of direct consulting experience. Based in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geology/earth science/geochemistry/hydrology or engineering or related field of study
- At least 2 of direct consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines and budgets, and traveling to client facilities as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Post graduate MSc or similar in hydrogeology
- 5 years of consulting experience
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Demonstrated success in teamwork
- Strong GIS skills - ArcGIS, QGIS, or Surfer
- Strong data handling and manipulation skills, and data analysis
- Experience assisting with groundwater assessments and site conceptual model development
- Fieldwork experience – drilling supervision, logging, testing, sampling, monitoring
- Experience with Leapfrog, or other 3D volumetric modelling software
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D numerical flow models
