Hydrogen Production Technician

Job Summary

Operate the hydrogen plant to ensure continuous customer supply without interruption, monitoring pipelines, maintaining product inventory, and managing liquid product loads. Execute plant start-ups, shutdowns, and maintenance requests via Maximo, while performing water treatment tests and calibrating analytical instrumentation. Participate in on-call rotations to support operational activities outside business hours, weekends, and holidays, switching to backup systems during emergencies. Comply with safe work permit processes, including LOTOs and confined space safety, and maintain chemical inventory for cooling towers. Log daily activities, fill customer trailers, and issue certificates of analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of technical training or operations experience
  • Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and possibly holidays
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations)
  • Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment
  • Ability to use computers-knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Good verbal/written communication skills
  • Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing
  • Full range of motion
  • ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces
  • Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical Associates degree
  • Qualified in operation of the forklift, man lift and overhead crane
