Hydrogen Operator

Job Summary
The Hydrogen Operator will monitor plant equipment and systems in a 24/7 hydrogen production facility, perform startup/shutdown, basic preventive maintenance (oil changes, greasing, filters, cleaning), troubleshoot problems, calibrate analytical equipment, maintain daily logs, contribute to SOPs and plant improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance and safety. Must understand equipment interlocks, alarms, and operating parameters; able to work in a team, handle a 12-hour swing shift, and travel up to 15%. Emphasis on mechanical/electrical aptitude, routine monitoring of pressures, temperatures, flows, leaks, and abnormal conditions, with strong emphasis on safety and accurate recordkeeping.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing operation or chemical industry preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in inclement weather for short periods
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Ability to wear respirator and PPE
- Work a 12-hour swing shift schedule including days, nights, weekends and some holidays
- Mechanical or electrical experience in Industrial Maintenance or Operations
- Experience operating and monitoring electric generators, chillers, compressors, and auxiliary equipment
- Demonstrated troubleshooting, diagnostic, decision-making and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- PC literacy (email, work management software)
- Recordkeeping and daily log maintenance
