Hydroelectric Plant Technician (Riverbend)

Job Summary
Operate and maintain hydroelectric plant equipment and associated water intakes to maximize reliability and efficiency. Conduct daily plant and intake inspections; start and stop generating units and auxiliary equipment per procedures; perform safety inspections and monitor security systems with accurate logs and reports. Work with heavy equipment and various tools, perform routine and preventive maintenance to support plant reliability, and participate in safety programs and JSA procedures. Respond to emergent plant issues, coordinate and supervise contractors, and work on a rotating schedule including weekends/holidays. Requires safety commitment; candidates typically have at least two years in power-plant or industrial settings, with high school diploma or equivalent and PLC/instrumentation experience; valid driver’s license and proficiency with standard software tools preferred.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of related experience in a power plant or industrial setting highly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational certificate or degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred
- Instrumentation and control system experience, including troubleshooting of PLC based control systems and general calibration of instrumentation devices preferred
- Ability to communicate and report all downtime related events in a timely manner to the regional manager
- Experience with basic industrial maintenance techniques preferred
- The ability to maintain a valid driver’s license
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook, etc.) for use in business communication
