Job Summary
Hydroelectric Plant Technician responsible for daily plant and intake inspections, starting/stopping generating units, operating heavy equipment, and supporting maintenance to ensure reliability and safety. The role involves coordinating and supervising contractors, developing safety procedures, monitoring safety and logs, performing routine maintenance, responding to emergent plant issues, and participating in company safety programs. Requires strong safety mindset, experience with instrumentation/PLC systems, ability to operate tools and lift up to 50 lbs, and a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational or engineering/physical sciences credentials preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of related experience in a power plant or industrial setting highly preferred
- Instrumentation and control system experience including troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems and calibration of instrumentation devices preferred
- Ability to communicate and report downtime events to regional manager
- Experience with basic industrial maintenance techniques preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Vocational certificate or degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred
