Job Summary
Operate a hydro generating plant (_total capacity <100 MW_) and perform duties including operating one or more hydro plants, executing switching orders and tag clearances on equipment (generators, turbines, penstocks), conducting substation inspections, routine maintenance checks, logging maintenance activities, and reporting to Hydro Control Operator. After successful training, compensation follows the Hydro Operator B (fully qualified) rate. Hedge responsibilities include knowledge of plants, water impoundments, water conduits, and switching as prescribed by the Company; perform maintenance on slip rings/commutators and brushes within allowed percentages and clean electrical equipment during annual maintenance.
