Job Summary
Prepare storm water management reports, culvert and bridge hydrologic studies, and submit NPDES permits through various agencies. Lead drainage engineering projects as Engineer of Record, coordinating design development, cost estimates, and technical reports for transportation improvements. Independently use hydrologic/hydraulic software and CADD tools to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations while mentoring junior staff. Serve as Discipline Lead on projects of varying complexity, including roadway, bridge, and civil-site works, while interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- PE licensure in South Carolina
- A minimum of 5 years of experience of Water Resources and Storm Water Design Engineering
- design of storm drains, culverts, storm water management, BMPs, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and Floodplain studies, and environmental permitting
- along with cost estimating
Desired Qualifications
- MS degree in Engineering (Civil, Biological, Agricultural, or another related discipline)
- NCDOT or GDOT experience
- Alternative Delivery experience or freight rail experience
- Water and sewer design experience
- including relocation plans for transportation projects, and/or site utilities
- Multi-state licensure
- Experience with XP-SWMM or similar
- Using CADD and mapping software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ESRI ArcGIS
- Openroads Designer and/or Civil 3D experience
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
- Candidate should possess knowledge and experience of SCDOT and Local government design and permitting requirements
- Lead small to large Civil projects
