Hydraulic Specialist (Water)

Job Summary
Set up HADES models for treatment plant infrastructure, calibrate them with physical data, and explore hydraulic modelling scenarios to develop solutions for clean water and wastewater facilities. Present findings to clients and prepare high-quality technical reports documenting model assumptions, build processes, results, and uncertainties. Support project delivery by preparing hydraulic profiles and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop detailed design drawings. Work with external partners using company project management systems to deliver work on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject (e.g. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering)
- Technical Reporting: Writing clearly and concisely, summarising technical concepts for clients
- Experience in open channel hydraulic design, including sub critical and super critical flow and hydraulic jumps
- Experience with design of hydraulic structures, including weirs and flumes
- Gravity pipe and pressure pipe design experience
- Experience in developing hydraulic models and / or producing calculations for a range of sizes and complexities of treatment plants independently
- Experience and understanding of hydraulic modelling scenarios
- Chartership or working towards Chartership (CIWEM, ICE)
- Must be able to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
