Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild hydraulic cylinder parts and restore equipment to proper operation at an advanced level. Review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE, and prepare for duties. Use pallet jacks, lift trucks, overhead cranes, and other aides to lift or move parts into position for repair. Install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts/equipment. Pressure wash and repaint parts/equipment. Reference parts information and enter data into record systems. Disassemble/reassemble parts or equipment; use powered tools and test equipment to diagnose and repair; use hoists and forklifts to move items; perform grinding, honing, boring, drilling, and polishing and finish/paint units. Maintain repair activities on customer work orders and demonstrate problem solving.)
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School or GED
- Six years of experience with at least two years on Cat equipment or similar equipment
- Proficient in at least four mechanical systems (e.g., transmissions, engines, hydraulics) for multiple model lines
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath equipment daily
- Ability to lift/position parts up to 50 pounds and use mechanical hoist for heavier parts
- Able to write repair activities on customer work orders
- Cognitive reasoning and problem solving to address unusual/unknown technical equipment issues
- Exposure to PC-based equipment and parts information
