Job Summary
Undertake 1D-2D hydraulic modelling commissions to assess fluvial, surface water, and tidal flooding, alongside technical work including Flood Risk Assessments, hydrological assessments, flood defence design, and sustainable urban drainage systems. Take ownership of project delivery to high quality standards within defined budgets and programmes, collaborating with senior modellers to execute technical approaches. Nurture and develop graduate team members while producing hydraulic modelling reporting deliverables. Work autonomously in a deadline-driven environment to support the Bristol Water Resources team's growth across the UK.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Experience in the application of 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling techniques within water consulting
- Experience with software packages such as Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW and InfoWorks ICM
- Experience in the use of GIS software including QGIS, ArcGIS and MapInfo
- Experience in production of hydraulic modelling reporting deliverables
- A track record of successful delivery of flood risk and water management projects
- Experience in liaison with private/public sector clients and regulators
- Able to deliver modelling projects to defined budget and programme expectations
- Personable, team focused and ready to set a positive example for graduate team members
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously

- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments
- A working knowledge of hydrological flow estimation, including industry standard techniques (WINFAP-FEH, ReFH2)
- M.Sc. / Ph.D in relevant technical areas
- Working towards Chartership with ICE/CIWEM
