Job Summary
Develop and deliver hybrid ethics courses for DeVry University's Advantage Academy high school population in Chicago, IL, utilizing blended face-to-face and online technologies. Create and regularly update course syllabi, lesson plans, and materials aligned with local campus templates and terminal objectives. Facilitate student learning through effective oral and written communication, setting clear expectations for assignments and evaluations while ensuring exam content matches course goals. Grading must be consistent and fair, providing timely feedback to students. Integrate responsible AI use in the classroom, recognizing and addressing both appropriate and inappropriate student use of these tools. Participate in comprehensive faculty training and ongoing development activities. Schedule involves classes from 9-12pm or 12-3pm CST, meeting once or twice weekly for eight weeks, with hours varying based on university needs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant field
- Juris Doctorate Preferred
- 18 graduate credit hours in the subject being taught
- Degrees must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation
- Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations
- Requisite subject matter expertise
- Outstanding communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices
- Onsite teaching in Chicago, IL
