Job Summary
Develop and deliver high school college courses for DeVry's Advantage Academy program in Chicago, blending face-to-face instruction with online discussions. Create and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and materials while integrating responsible AI use to enhance learning outcomes. Facilitate student learning by setting clear expectations, grading fairly with timely feedback, and ensuring exam content aligns with terminal objectives. Classes meet once or twice weekly for eight weeks, with onsite teaching at 1900 W. Lawrence Avenue. Pay ranges from $1,500 to $2,700 per session or $22–$23.50 hourly, depending on location and credit hours.
Required Qualifications
- Position requires onsite teaching in Chicago, IL
- Doctoral Degree in a relevant field
- 18 graduate credit hours in the subject being taught
- Degrees must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation
- Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise
- Faculty must have outstanding communication skills
- Faculty must have a commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
