Job Summary
Hybrid Systems Engineer in Amsterdam responsible for managing cloud (Azure) and on-premises infrastructure. Role combines Azure IaaS/PaaS, Intune endpoint management, and Active Directory/Entra ID with VMware/Hyper-V virtualization. You’ll implement security baselines, configure hybrid identity integrations, and oversee observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud. You’ll maintain on-prem AD and VMware/Hyper-V environments, oversee DR/BCP drills, manage configuration and patching, participate in ITSM processes (Jira/Ivanti) and lead incident resolution. The position requires 2 days in the office per week and 3 days remote, with on-call rotations and collaboration across internal teams and vendors. Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions for automation, and a strong grasp of identity, access management, and hybrid infrastructure is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Azure cloud operations, virtual machines, storage, and monitoring
- Administration of on-premises Active Directory including Group Policies
- Hands-on experience with VMware and Hyper-V
- Experience with Intune endpoint management for policies, compliance, software deployment and device configuration
- Experience with Entra ID/ Azure AD and hybrid identity
- Experience with configuration management, patching, lifecycle updates and baseline compliance
- Experience with Jira Service Management for incident, problem and request handling
- Ability to work in On-Call rotations and maintain high operational reliability
- Experience with scripting or automation (GitHub, PowerShell, Python is a plus)
- Familiarity with backup, DR, and BCP strategies across hybrid environments
- Knowledge of server and endpoint monitoring, logs, alerting and backup systems
- ITIL 4 Foundation for ITSM processes
