Hybrid Social Studies/History Teacher

Job Summary
Create a virtual classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership while providing daily instruction, clear learning outcomes, and well-designed lessons aligned to the Stride K12 curriculum. Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden student exposure and require application of knowledge, while maintaining a visually appealing environment rich with curriculum-aligned resources. Communicate regularly with students to understand their talents and needs, and update families on progress and achievements. Collaborate with school-based staff and the Friendship network through staff meetings and professional learning sessions. Work in a hybrid capacity with potential for three days in person and two days virtually, reporting in for testing, check and connect sessions, field trips, and in-person tutoring as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Commitment to providing a world-class education to students from historically underserved communities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Hybrid capacity with potential of 3 days a week in person and 2 days a week virtually
- Required to participate in all in-person activities
- Number of in-person days varies from month to month depending on scheduled activities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the role
- Identified as 'in field'
- Has a university degree in their field of teaching
- Has an active certification in their field of teaching
- Has demonstrated at least one year of effective teaching in their field as measured by the LEA's teacher evaluation system
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education
