Job Summary
Process medical record release requests by inputting data into Verisma Software and reading, interpreting, and organizing medical records, forms, and authorizations. Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues while maintaining high standards of production, efficiency, and accuracy. Travel to client locations in Pittsburgh and other sites as business needs dictate, providing customer service in person, on the phone, and via email. Attain a solid understanding of client-specific expectations across multiple accounts while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, state regulations, and company policies. Assist with training and mentoring new associates to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in processes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience within healthcare setting and medical records
- Clean driving record with valid insurance
- Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information
- Ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications

- RHIT certification
- Experience with clerical and general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, Microsoft Office Suite
