Job Summary
Design and sustain hybrid platform architectures bridging on-premises infrastructure with AWS GovCloud and Azure for the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture. Lead the full lifecycle management of VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0, enterprise hardware stacks, and container platforms including VKS, Docker, and Podman. Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell to modernize self-service resource provisioning and ensure compliance with DoD policies. Conduct daily monitoring, backups, and cyber security mitigations while collaborating with system engineers to define requirements and test new solutions. Maintain secure, air-gapped environments from physical hardware through the hypervisor layer, ensuring continuous system operations and alignment with service level agreements.
Required Qualifications
- 14, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience, which may be reduced with completion of advanced education
- 7, or more, years of IT experience with 3 years in cloud engineering roles
- 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
- Experience with enterprise hardware stack (HPE Synergy, HPE Nimble, NetApp ONTAP, etc.)
- Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, HELM, Bash, etc.)
- Experience with continuous delivery tools (VCFA Blueprints, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform
- Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions
- Understanding of networking, storage, identity, and DevSecOps pipelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g. Sec+) within 60 days of hire
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Have a Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Have 1, or more, Cloud certifications (e.g, VMware Certified Professional - VCF Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Have experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal cloud initiatives
- Have experience with model-based system engineering models and tools
- Have experience working in an agile environment
- Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment (RHEL 9.x)
- Have experience writing and executing with automation tools
- Have experience with scripting languages (e.g. YAML, Python, Bash)
