Job Summary
Create a virtual classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership for special education learners, delivering daily instruction with clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments aligned to the Stride K12 curriculum. Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences, utilize research-based literacy strategies, and employ data-driven instruction to track individual academic and social-emotional progress. Collaborate with school-based staff, learning coaches, and parents to support testing, field trips, and in-person tutoring sessions, while ensuring compliance with federal and state special education laws and IEP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
- 2+ years relevant urban teaching experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- At least ONE of the following: Successful completion of the content area ETS Praxis II Exam, Valid Special Education Teaching License, Degree in content area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the role preferred
- Commitment to providing a world-class education through an online platform for students who have a medical exemption and cannot attend school in person
- Experience with providing online educational services is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
