Job Summary
Hybrid Field Blaster & Coating Technician responsible for surface preparation, blasting, and coating of metal components and concrete surfaces. Duties include abrasive blasting, operating blast pots/booths, masking, applying industrial coatings (paints, epoxies, enamels, sealants) with spray equipment, and performing touch-ups. Will collaborate with QC Manager on quality inspections, document work in digital systems, and ensure compliance. Also handles material movement with forklifts/cranes, rigging, power washing, and maintaining PPE. Role begins local with increasing travel to project sites; schedule may include days or nights with up to 70 miles travel radius. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/bend for extended periods, and operate in indoor/outdoor environments; travel/overnight may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with auto insurance
- Ability to follow detailed work orders and quality control standards
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to adapt to shifting project locations and tasks
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand/bend for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
- PPE including respirators, blast suits, gloves, and face protection
- Comfortable in confined spaces or at elevated heights
