Job Summary
Set the standard for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, and department profitability while modeling great service to create a welcoming atmosphere. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all department employees, establishing weekly schedules and daily work plans in partnership with the Store Director. Analyze sales trends, prepare ad projections, and write ads to drive profitability, while managing bookkeeping, inventory, and equipment maintenance. Unload trucks, check in delivered merchandise, and pitch in with special projects as they arise. This Hy-Chi Department Manager role requires a high school diploma, over one year of related experience, and the ability to lift 100 pounds or more in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Over one year of related work experience
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment (required operator certification must be completed prior to independent use)
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades to cut, trim, or grind product
- Ability to unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise
- Ability to work in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods
- Ability to operate a cardboard baler or compactor
- Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with dough mixing, scaling, and proofing
- Must be 18+
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
