Job Summary
Senior HW Design Engineer leads end-to-end hardware design from requirements to prototype, translating system and product requirements into robust architectures, performing schematic capture and board design, driving PCB layout with SI/PI/EM considerations, selecting BoM, conducting hardware simulations, supporting bring-up, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality HW that meets specifications. Requires BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in board design; Cadence-based design experience; familiarity with DFM/DFT; strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years board design and development
- Strong expertise in schematic capture tools and PCB design flow (preferably Cadence)
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT)
- Strong inter-personal and written & oral communication skills
- Ability to understand system-level requirements and translate them into robust hardware architectures
- Full ownership and leadership in HW design, both at the board and system level
- Experience with simulations (SI/PI/EM) to validate designs
- Ability to drive PCB placement and layout with layout engineers to meet performance, signal integrity and cost targets
- Experience in selecting and managing BoM, balancing performance, availability and cost
- Able to support design bring-up and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes
- Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate into optimized hardware solutions
- Contribute to improving HW design competency by sharing best practices
