Job Summary
HVDC Control and Protection System Engineer responsible for design, implementation, and verification of HVDC control and protection systems, with hands-on PSCAD/RSCAD/RTDS modelling, AC/DC interaction studies, and protection coordination. Activities include dynamic performance analyses, development of control/sequencing strategies, tender and client-support tasks, and collaboration across projects to ensure compliant, reliable grid solutions. Requires engineering degree or equivalent, experience in HVDC design, and ability to travel globally. Proficiency in PSCAD and RSCAD is essential, along with strong communication skills in English.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent in power systems or power electronics
- Demonstrated experience in HVDC control and protection system design, implementation, and verification
- Proficiency with PSCAD and RSCAD simulation tools
- Knowledge of AC and HVDC system interactions and protection strategies
- Experience with system modelling and analysis (RTDS/PSCAD)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Willingness to travel globally to support projects
