Job Summary
RN responsibilities include assessing patients’ physical and psychosocial status; developing and documenting individualized plans of care; coordinating and evaluating care with the healthcare team; supervising non-RN staff and acting as charge nurse; providing patient and family education; serving as a preceptor to new staff; and participating in departmental operations. Demonstrates competency in neuro assessment and airway/care of neuro patients, including care for trached patients and ventilator management, with experience in devices such as IABP/Impella/VADs in a cardiac ICU setting. Roles involve teaching through the facility’s teaching programs, contributing to discharge planning, and ensuring high-quality patient care across cardiac/neuro units. BSN preferred; CT RN licensure required; BCLS certification required within one month of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- BSN preferred or higher educational preparation
