Job Summary
Nurse in the Heart and Vascular/Cardiac ICU setting providing patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care; supervises non-RN staff, may act as Charge Nurse, and may work on other nursing units as needed. Responsibilities include developing and documenting individualized plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, evaluating outcomes and readiness for discharge, and supporting staff development. Demonstrates competency in neuro assessment and care for neuro patients, airway management, care of trached patients, post-operative care for complex cardiac/hemodynamic patients, and familiarity with devices such as IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and other critical care interventions. Strong emphasis on adherence to professional standards, patient-centered care, teamwork, and compliance with department policies. Location: Milford, NH; CT licenses required; BSN preferred; BCLS certification required within one month of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Ability to function as preceptor and charge nurse
- Nursing practice governed by state standards (Nurse Practice Act)
