Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care on Neuro and Cardiovascular ICU units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; supervise non-RN personnel and act as charge nurse; precept new staff; collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and revise plans of care; manage airway and ventilator support, including suctioning and care of tracheostomy patients, and care for patients with complex cardiac and neuro conditions; deliver patient and family education and participate in interdisciplinary rounds; ensure adherence to nursing standards and professional behavior; work within the Cardiac ICU/Cticu/Stepdown units and participate in program initiatives and education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
