Job Summary
RN on HVC Cardiac units delivers patient-centered nursing care following ANA standards and YNHHS practice model. Responsibilities include establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and families, collaborating with health-care team, respecting patient values, data collection and holistically formulating health outcomes, coordinating care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluating progress. Responsibilities align with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, professional performance expectations, and unit-specific cardiac care (including management of coronary artery disease, dysrhythmias, post-operative cardiac procedures, and telemetry). Professional development and adherence to institutional governance, ethics, and culturally congruent practice are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire.
