Job Summary
RN provides professional cardiac-focused nursing care in the HVC Cardiothoracic/Intermediate Care/Step-Down units within Yale New Haven Health System. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care; coordination of care with patients, families, and healthcare team; health teaching and promotion; and adherence to ANA Scope and Standards, professional governance, ethics, and culturally congruent practice. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, evidence-based practice, and delivering patient-centered care for cardiac surgery patients, post-catheterization and electrophysiology populations, advanced heart failure, and related cardiac conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- CT RN licensure
- BCLS certification within 1 month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
