HVC Cardiothoracic Nurse

Provide professional nursing care in the HVC Cardiothoracic units, applying the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice to deliver patient-centered care. The RN will perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation), coordinate care across the health-care team, teach health-promotion strategies, and engage in ethical, culturally congruent practice. Roles include leadership, delegation, collaboration, and ongoing professional development, with emphasis on evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and adherence to professional standards. The unit cares for cardiovascular patients including post-operative CABG and valve procedures, device therapies (pacemaker/ICD), and complex telemetry in multiple cardiac inpatient settings.
