HVC Cardiothoracic Nurse

Job Summary
RN on Heart and Vascular/Cardiothoracic ICU units; conducts ongoing patient assessments, develops and documents individualized care plans with the healthcare team, educates patients/families, and coordinates care through discharge; serves as preceptor to new staff and may assume Charge Nurse duties; demonstrates competency in neuro monitoring, airway management for neuro patients, care of trached patients, and post-operative cardiac surgery care; participates in education programs and adheres to nursing scope and standards as defined by state regulation and organizational policy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
