HVC Cardiothoracic Nurse

Registered Nurse in the Heart & Vascular Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) unit performing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care under Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator supervision; provides supervision of non-RN personnel, can assume Charge Nurse role, serves as a preceptor to new staff, and delivers specialized neuro and airway care including care for trached patients, Ventilator and ECMO-capable patients, with unit-specific protocols and education for the staff; supports patient education, discharge planning, and ongoing evaluation of care quality with focus on integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion; unit features include CTICU, VAD/Impella capability, and advanced cardiac care within a 14- to 18-bed environment across multiple CTICU configurations.
