HVC Cardiac Care Nurse

Registered Nurse on the Heart and Vascular/Cardiac ICU units involved in continuous assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; provides supervision of non-RN personnel, assumes charge role when needed, and may work on other units as distributed. Responsibilities include patient condition assessment, development and documentation of individualized care plans with input from patients and families, collaboration with the healthcare team, patient education and outcomes documentation, and education of staff. Demonstrates competency in neuro-focused care, airway management for neuro patients, care of tracheostomy patients, and support for complex cardiac procedures and devices. Precept and support new staff; ensure adherence to performance expectations and unit operations. Requires current nursing licensure in CT with BSN preferred; comprehensive benefits, continuing education, and professional development offered.
