HVC Cardiac Care Nurse

Registered Nurse assigned to Heart and Vascular/Cardiac ICU units. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and documenting plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, and supervising non-RN staff. Additional duties include acting as charge nurse, precepting new staff, and delivering care for neuro patients with specialized skills in neuro assessment, airway management, suctioning, care of tracheostomy patients, and ventilated patients. Proficient in post-operative cardiac care, post-CABG/valve replacement care, and use of devices such as IABP, Impella, LVADs. Familiarity with the TIA teaching program, halo brace care, and participation in performance improvement and education opportunities. BSN preferred; CT licensure required; BCLS certification required within one month of hire; professional accountability to state practice standards.
