Job Summary
HVAC Truck Based Service Controls Engineer role focused on on-site preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and servicing of building automation systems. Provides high-level technical troubleshooting of complex control systems, mentors technicians, maintains project/service documentation, supports customer engagement and provides field recommendations for retrofits or upgrades. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing complex control-system malfunctions, communicating with customers, developing field proposals, assisting sales with technical leads, coordinating work with branch and subcontractors, producing sketches and as-built documentation, coordinating software/configuration changes, training customers on system operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities to upsell add-on work.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry
- Vocational School program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems
- Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment
- Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites
- Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, low voltage, building automation systems and other building subsystems
