Job Summary
HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic (union) sought to service commercial HVACR systems across North America. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repair, and replacement on light to heavy commercial heating and cooling equipment; troubleshooting mechanical systems (piping, piping fitting, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, compressors, ammonia/hydrocarbon systems); installing complete systems; providing quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency; traveling 10–20% to support branch activities; partnering with Servicemen and apprentices; maintaining safety training and certifications (EPA refrigerants license and required state/local licenses); undergoing examinations to identify special skills; and leveraging JCI’s training programs and Service Plus Rewards. Candidates must be a member or willing to join the union, with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience; ability to communicate clearly with customers about problems, causes, and corrective actions; and willingness to participate in on-the-job training and career development.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
- Minimum of Eight (8) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry and Industrial Petro-Chemical, or Data Center vertical environments
- Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia / hydrocarbon system components
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license
