Job Summary
HVAC Truck Based Chiller Mechanic (union) in Laredo, TX. Serves Johnson Controls’ North America HVAC chillers and related equipment, providing startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and aftermarket services, with a focus on residential/ducted chillers, AHUs, and roof-top units. The role includes advising customers, delivering quotes, upselling solutions to improve facility efficiency, and participating in STA training for product and service knowledge. Requires travel 10-20%, union membership or willingness to join, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
- Minimum of three years of practical working experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s or Roof Top ducted units
- Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components
- Travel 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting
- Ability to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license
- This is a Bargaining Unit Position
