Job Summary
HVAC Technician for Johnson Controls’ union-based field service team, focusing on residential and/or ducted chillers, air-cooled and/or water-cooled systems, AHUs, and roof-top units. Responsibilities include startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, aftermarket service, and providing quotes to customers; work collaboratively with local market mechanics and participate in JCI’s STA training. The role emphasizes safety, customer communication, and delivering efficient facility performance, with tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle provided. Requires EPA refrigerants licensing and valid driver's license; typically travel 10%–20% to support startup, commissioning, and service activities. This is a bargaining unit position with an hourly pay rate of $40.25, aligned to the local CBA/rate sheet.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s or Roof Top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components
- Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting
- Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license
- This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
