Job Summary
Diagnose HVAC and air conditioning system performance using proper testing procedures, gauges, meters, and diagnostic equipment. Troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, refrigeration, electrical, and related mechanical components, including disassembling and reassembling equipment as necessary. Perform preventive maintenance, routine service, and installations based on experience and job requirements. Read schematics, interpret technical documentation, and communicate service findings clearly to customers while completing work orders and documentation accurately. Operate company vehicles safely and follow established safety procedures and HVAC codes. Serve customers throughout San Antonio, TX and surrounding areas, working independently while maintaining communication with supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC service experience
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems
- Working knowledge of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical controls, and mechanical systems relevant to HVAC service
- Ability to competently use HVAC gauges, meters, diagnostic instruments, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to read schematics, equipment documentation, and technical specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage field service responsibilities without constant supervision
- Professional communication skills when working with customers, supervisors, and coworkers
- Ability to accurately complete work orders and service documentation
- Ability to follow established safety procedures and applicable codes
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle when required
Desired Qualifications
- EPA certification preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
