Job Summary
HVAC Technician for the Ankeny Community School District responsible for preventative and general maintenance of district climate control systems to support optimal learning environments. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment, operating and monitoring Building Automation Systems (BAS) to improve energy management and indoor air quality, conducting daily facility inspections, coordinating with custodial and campus teams, performing on-call emergency responses, maintaining parts inventory, ensuring compliance with district and local codes, and providing clear technical guidance to site personnel. Requires reading operating instructions, attention to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-person projects. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Journeyman HVAC License
- Class C Non-Commercial Driver's License
- Ability to obtain refrigerant license within first year
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in HVAC
- Building Automation experience, preferred
