Job Summary
HVAC Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of HVAC/R systems across industrial, commercial, laboratory, and support facilities. Perform daily maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot chillers, boilers, air handling units, and refrigeration systems; read blueprints, P&IDs, and schematics; mentor HVAC technicians and subcontractors; manage work orders and CMMS records; ensure adherence to site safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and environmental regulations; diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control issues; support energy efficiency and system reliability; participate in planning and scheduling; and comply with OSHA, building codes, and DOE regulations. Requires US citizenship, EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, and a high school diploma or GED; DOE security clearance eligibility and 5–10 years of HVAC maintenance experience with leadership experience are preferred. Also highlights leadership, safety, and communication skills as essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school certification or Associate Degree in HVAC/R, Mechanical Technology, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5–10 years of HVAC maintenance experience in industrial, commercial, government, nuclear, or manufacturing facilities
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and air handling units
- Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
