Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including boilers, chillers, and heat exchangers. Monitor equipment conditions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and test systems to verify compliance with specifications. Perform routine repairs, adjust controls, and install auxiliary components following blueprints. Record faults, generate work orders, and communicate system issues to customers. Ensure safety compliance and maintain a clean work area while operating diagnostic tools and machinery. Requires 5 years of HVAC experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of HVAC level operation, maintenance & repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring
- Knowledge of operating principles of motors
- Knowledge of local electrical codes
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to perform math
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Valid driver's license
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment
- Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently
