Job Summary
Assemble, install, service, and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units for homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. Diagnose equipment breakdowns, test parts with instruments, and make necessary repairs by studying building plans and working drawings. Cut openings in walls and floors, thread pipes, and connect motors to control panels to ensure efficient operation. Perform additional duties per supervisor direction while adhering to precise standards and procedures. This non-exempt role reports to the Foreman with frequent work checks.
Required Qualifications
- HVAC certification from a technical school
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- Minimum of 5 years field experience with general HVAC troubleshooting
- Minimum of 2 years industrial field experience
- Experience installing/troubleshooting/repairing
- Experience with Roof top units (RTU's)
- Experience with Make-up air units (MAU's)
- Experience with Air-handler units (AHU's) with air conditioner units
- Experience with Heat pumps
- Experience with Chiller Units/Systems
- Experience with refrigeration systems
- Experience with HVAC controls
- Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
- Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level
- Must be able to maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
- Must be able to reach in all directions
- Must be able to handle and manipulate objects and materials
- Must be able to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Must be able to wear respirator and other PPE
- Must be able to work in excessive heat
- Must be able to work in excessive cold
- Must be able to work in loud environment
Desired Qualifications
- Petrochemical experience a plus
- Niagara would be a plus
