Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and related temperature-control systems across Mount Sinai Medical Center facilities. Operate and maintain building automation systems; perform preventive maintenance on boilers and related equipment; inspect and adjust components (valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, pumps, compressors, condensers, coils, pipes); ensure safe operation by reporting unsafe conditions. Requires CFC certification within 120 days and EPA technician certification within 90 days. High school graduate or equivalent required; regionally accredited trade program knowledge strongly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current CFC certification or obtained within the first 120 days of employment
- Certified by an Environmental Protection Agency approved technician certification program within 90 days of employment
- Knowledge of HVAC Technology, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited trade program (strongly preferred)
- Experience with basic HVAC equipment, power and hand tools; reclamation equipment; brazing and welding equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problem solve
