Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related temperature control equipment throughout the facility. Operate and maintain automated building control systems while performing preventive maintenance on boilers and auxiliaries. Diagnose trouble, replace parts, and adjust valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, coils, and pipes. Verify repairs are complete and report unsafe conditions to department leadership. Requires current CFC certification or EPA-approved technician certification within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Current CFC (Chlorofluorocarbons) certification
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Certified by an Environmental Protection Agency approved technician certification program
- Knowledge and proficient with basic HVAC equipment
- Knowledge and proficient with power and hand tools
- Knowledge and proficient with reclamation equipment
- Knowledge and proficient with brazing and welding equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of HVAC Technology, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited trade program
